Google Plus +

By now most people have heard of Google Plus, Google’s new Social Media website.  They are competing with both Facebook and Twitter and apparently are growing quite quickly in members and popularity.  I myself got an invite from a friend and created a G+ account with my Google Profile.

My Google+ Profile – If you have a Google account, come over and follow me.  I will be posting to the site quite a bit.  The application is gaining the attention of many professional bloggers, including Darren Rowse.  They are saying that the G+ Application will be better for promoting blogs and bloggers than Facebook is, but of course only time will tell if that is true.  Still though, with the gaining popularity, it is a great source of social networking for your blog, business or just yourself.

Bloggers Network

For some time now I have been thinking in the back of my mind about setting up some sort of network for bloggers, both professional and hobbyists, to share information, ideas, and post questions about how to run a more efficient and effective blog.  The idea, while sitting in the back of my head, didn’t really hold any form other than a simple fact that I wanted to help bloggers and surround myself with people who were like-minded in blogging.

Thanks to my friend over at dotCommunicable(this is a new site he has started) I think the time has come to put this plan in action.

This is just a preliminary idea for now, but I want to setup a closed discussion forum that is by-invitation only.  Once membership is approved, members will be able to login to share ideas and post questions about all aspects of blogging.  From which software to use, where to host your site, what plugins are best for your niche, links to sites like yours, and advertising plans; we will be able to help each other with our personal and professional blogging websites.  All niches are welcome, too.  Even if we get 15-20 people who all want to blog about cooking and food recipes, I believe each person and each website has their own unique point of view to offer.  The more we can work together, the more we can all benefit together.

I’ve had this website up for a long time, and I realize that my postings are usually few and far between, but each time I go and check my RSS links, I am surprised by how many people follow this blog.  So if you are interested in learning more about this community I am about to build, and if you have anything to offer, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Wow, What a Day….

….and it’s only 2pm where I sit.

This morning I was supposed to have a Dr appt, but they called and canceled it themselves.  I have to reschedule for some time next week, which is fine with me.  Nothing wrong with me, just a routine visit, so I don’t care when I do it.

Since I had my morning open back up, I decided to do some online updates.  I installed a WIKI at my main site www.aints.net – it isn’t done yet, in fact it will probably be a work-in-progress for some time, but this site will be the center portal for all my other sites and blogs.

I also created a new Twitter account to which I plan to link all my blogs.  I have my own personal Twitter account which I don’t use very often, but I wanted to make one that was for my “online presence” as I have started calling it.  All of my blogs will auto-tweet to this account every time I make a blog post.  This is done through Feedburner.  Go follow my new Twitter account here.

Also if you have seen the posts with links to other articles, those are all auto posts.  I installed the Firefox browser plugin for Delicious and whenever I find an article that I like (including one that I write myself ;) ) I click a button on my browser and it saves it to my Delicious.com profile.  Once a day my account with auto-post all links I have tagged within the past 24 hours.

I’ll post some more tomorrow… been working on getting my new blogs up and going so that I can build a business out of blogging.  It will take a few years, but in the end it will be worth it.
