Bloggers Network

For some time now I have been thinking in the back of my mind about setting up some sort of network for bloggers, both professional and hobbyists, to share information, ideas, and post questions about how to run a more efficient and effective blog.  The idea, while sitting in the back of my head, didn’t really hold any form other than a simple fact that I wanted to help bloggers and surround myself with people who were like-minded in blogging.

Thanks to my friend over at dotCommunicable(this is a new site he has started) I think the time has come to put this plan in action.

This is just a preliminary idea for now, but I want to setup a closed discussion forum that is by-invitation only.  Once membership is approved, members will be able to login to share ideas and post questions about all aspects of blogging.  From which software to use, where to host your site, what plugins are best for your niche, links to sites like yours, and advertising plans; we will be able to help each other with our personal and professional blogging websites.  All niches are welcome, too.  Even if we get 15-20 people who all want to blog about cooking and food recipes, I believe each person and each website has their own unique point of view to offer.  The more we can work together, the more we can all benefit together.

I’ve had this website up for a long time, and I realize that my postings are usually few and far between, but each time I go and check my RSS links, I am surprised by how many people follow this blog.  So if you are interested in learning more about this community I am about to build, and if you have anything to offer, please don’t hesitate to contact me.

What I have learned today…

Over the course of the past 2 months since I was laid off, I have learned several things.  Some of them are important to my goals, and some of them are just tid-bits of  information that I might or might not use some day.  One thing is clear;  there is A LOT of information out there about “making money online” and if you aren’t focused, you might get lost or burnt out or even ripped off.

So today what I have learned is that I want to Blog to make money.  This isn’t new, right?  You have read my previous posts, yes?  (..I hope I have some readers out there…)  No, what I am saying is… I want to write a Blog for my online business.  I don’t want to sell products on a website, I don’t want to write an ebook and sell it (although this might come one day if the ebook is about blogging) I don’t want to gather huge amounts of traffic and point it to my site for the purpose of….?  I am not selling anything.

I currently have 2 or 3 blogs I am posting on.  My goal is to grow them and perhaps add another blog or 2 to their likeness.  My money will come from advertisements, CPC, CPM, CPA and the like.  Google Adsense, if they ever decide to send me the PIN# I am waiting on for my new mailing address, should make me some money.  Today I signed up for Clickbank and added their code to two of my blogs.  Problogger31 Day to Build a Better BlogUltimate Blog Profit.  Do you see a trend here?  This is my goal and what I am focused on.  I expect it to evolve with time, but evolve into a bigger blog.  Wish me luck.

What have you learned today?
